First before reading the rest of this, watch this video – WTF
Anyway, I just wanted to put down that everybody is well hyped about Google+ gaining over 10,000,000 users in 16 days compared to FaceBook and Twitter that took over 700 days to reach this figure. I am not usually one to speculate on things, but I am going to here and I have 2 reasons that I think Google did a really good job in one sense, the other is just fact
1. There are over 200million people with some kind of Google Account, gmail, adwords, webmaster, googledocs, picassa, panaramio, YouTube so was it that hard?
2. The Scarcity trick and your special trick – Google went out and said that Google+ is in Beta and you have to be invited to apply for an account – AWESOME I got invited and played with my account. I felt well special (well not really because I have lots of Internet Marketing friends and they had all had invites too :-)). But Google did make people feel that it was a special event and that not many people would get the privaledge – good going big G.
Lets watch over the next 6 months how this unfolds. If you haven’t done so by now get a Google+1 button on your site like I have.
